Sweet As.

Sweet As is a women's cycling team based in Queensland which currently has 5 Elite Women and 1 U19 Woman in the squad.

The team is based on the premise of "Queensland Icons" supporting Elite women's sport.

These icons are Bundaberg Sugar, Triple Play and Monadelphous Engineering, all supported by Felt Bicycles. Many people already associate these brands as being the essence of Queensland, that value their staff and customers, offer quality products and services and have been in business for many years.

Women in sport receive less support and recognition generally than their male counterparts. With this in mind, Sweet As was set up to support elite female cyclists, with a Queensland "flavour".

The team is Queensland based and supported and seek to promote both the iconic Queensland sponsors and Queensland women's sporting prowess. The team will target selected Elite Women's racing both in Queensland and Nationally during 2009, culminating with the National Championships at season end. The team aims to compete at the highest level, but all the while being true Queenslanders.

That is: Fair play, zero tolerance of drugs and faithful to the core of their supporters and their team mates.
