One, One Two Three and One Three
No its not instructions for ballroom dancing... It’s all in the numbers for Bundaberg Sugar Elite Women’s Team!
One:
Cycling Australia has confirmed that Bundaberg Sugar are #1 team in the National Road Series after a great Canberra Tour...This is our aim for the season end , so all round smiles from a very happy group of riders and staff.
One Two Three:
Saturday 28th May saw the running of the Metropolitan Criterium Championships..
Yes you guessed it: First, Second and Third for the girls after a dominant ride from Loren from the front for the whole event. Zoe and Sally picked up second and third with great tactics over the whole group. This is the third year that Sweet As has won this prestigious event, but never a hat trick before.
One Three
Sunday 29th May and the racing moved to a full road race for the Metropolitan Road Championships. With the demanding Mt Alford road course in front of them and riding with Masters Men, Loren secured her second win for the weekend in a very powerful performance. Zoe gave as good as she got with an excellent 3rd place. The girls also had to mix it with the men, with Loren finishing 6th overall and Zoe just out of the top 10! Great efforts in tough conditions.
Caneland Tour : An event that is very close to our heart.
This coming weekend the “Bundaberg Sugar” Caneland Tour of Bundaberg is being held. This iconic Queensland event is one of the teams’ big targets every year and the 2011 version is no different.
The event is a fantastic opportunity for the majority of team to really enjoy time in Bundaberg and to spend time with Bundaberg Sugars staff and their families. This is the highlight event annually as all of the team ALWAYS have a great time in Bundy.
Hopefully the results and race report you get next week will be like the last 3 years with the team topping the results!
